1709 Ruxton- Day 41
Ok, so this project might not be the fastest we've done, but it's finally starting to look like a house again. All of the major stuff is pretty much done, including the plumbing, electric and HVAC. We also were able to finish all of the tile work and hang all of the drywall. Now, we're in the process of sanding the drywall joint compound to prep the house for painting. Tomorrow we're also going to buy all of the windows and kitchen cabinets, and they should be in by the end of the week.
Here's the status of the main floor. If you remember, this was the spot where the new ducts were run and then framed out. Now, they've been covered in drywall and the first layer of compound has been applied. Next, we'll sand and then prime for paint.
Here's a shot of the new tile in the kitchen. It's tough to tell from the picture, but this area is huge! I'm glad we don't have to pay per SF of tile or this would have been a really expensive job.
Here's a new jacuzzi tub and tile upstairs. We've decided to pretty much add jacuzzi tubs in any place we have to add a new tub. The only reason we keep them are if they are the super heavy cast iron ones or if they are in extremely good shape. The iron ones are so difficult to remove that it's usually more practical to just refinish them.
Here's the new furnace in the basement. It already has passed it's final inspection, as shown by the green sticker.
There's really not much more to show on the Ruxton house. Next week the house should look stellar with the new kitchen and paint already done.
